Game to teach children reciprocal conversation
Mumble Jumble gives children a chance to ‘practice’ conversation in a safe, structured, and often hilarious way.
Working in teams or one-to-one with a therapist, players attempt to create logical conversations from sets of 10 jumbled sentences. These sentences are printed on clingy vinyl strips that stick to display boards (included). Children can easily re-position them as they scramble to get the sentences in the correct order.
Fast-paced and fun, this game is a great way to teach reciprocal conversation. It’s especially useful with youngsters who are experiencing the social and communication difficulties associated with autism. Children relax and lose their self-consciousness because they’re practising with somebody else’s words, not their own
