Lesson plans to help dispel myths and tackle SRE in bite-sized chunks
Sex and Relationship Education (SRE) is paramount for all pupils. Many primary schools are unsure how to tackle this subject because of differing attitudes within the wider society. The book focuses on three main areas of SRE:
- Relationships
- Puberty
- Sex education
There are three lesson plans for each topic for each year group, with full resources provided, 48 in total. There are also sections on links to the National Curriculum and writing a SRE policy. Help is given to teachers in how to respond to questions children ask, such as “What is a lesbian?”, “How old do you have to be to have sex?”
The flexible format allows schools to choose a variety of age-appropriate lesson plans to add to their PSHE programme.
