Four Sets of discussion cards to be used in circle time, which can be individually tailored to help promote thought and discussion on a range of issues.
Features:
- Friends – Encourages discussion on a range of issues including the qualities of being a good friend, the emotions engendered by supportive friendships and the positive impact effective, healthy friendships have on our emotional well-being.
Example: “If someone is unkind to my friend I…” - Families – Highlights the joys and responsibilities of living as part of a family unit. Encourages participants to question and discuss their position within all types of families and home environments.
Example: “An important person who does not live with us is…” - Myself – Encourages participants to really consider their own views on themselves, their self-esteem, self-image and beliefs. Through sharing these views and discussing them with others, it promotes assertiveness and self-confidence. Example: “I think people are laughing at me I…”
- Special Occasions – Offers a range of situations that may be termed ‘celebrations’, for example birthdays, a new baby, Christmas and other religious festivals. It then encourages participants to express their true feelings and explore strategies the can use to cope at such stressful times.
