Sometimes we need a little help to feel good about ourselves, whether it’s a compliment from a friend or a kindly gesture from a neighbour. Feeling Good will engage students with their emotions allowing them to see what makes them feel good and what makes them feel bad. Participants make their way around the game board collecting two types of cards. “Feeling Cards” get players thinking positive thoughts and recognising what makes them feel bad. “Doing Cards” give players the opportunity to act out feelings through role playing and drawing.
Doing Cards include:
● “Act as if you are a robot that does not have any feelings. What do you do when something bad happens? Something nice? Something infuriating?
● “What does fear look like to you? Draw it.”
Feeling Cards include:
● “When you’re nervous or scared, what kind of things do you tell yourself? How does what you say affect how you feel?”
● “If you could travel back in time, what part of your life would you return to and what would you do there?”
Originally developed to help people recover self-confidence and optimism after traumatic events or situations, Feeling Good encourages players to feel good about themselves by recognising, understanding, and expressing their emotions.
